Distributorship cited by PLCB

A Schuylkill County beer distributorship has been cited by the state liquor control board's Allentown enforcement office.

Eagle Beverages Inc., 221 E. Market St., Orwigsburg, was cited for issuing checks or drafts dated Dec. 4, 2009, in payment for purchases of malt or brewed beverages, when there was insufficient funds in, or credit with, the institution upon which drawn for the payment of such checks.

This charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
