Ahoy, me hearties

Pirate Captain Stacey Olewine, reading specialist, coordinated the fun activities for Towamensing Elementary students as they celebrated Read Across America. She is greeting, left to right, Emily Dailey, Connor Russo and Joseph Schwarz from Mrs. Greth's second grade class, to the Pirate Room. All the students from K-4th grade visited the Pirates Room where they made pirate medallions, played Dr. Seuss computer games, unscrambled pirate words, played pirate bean bags and even walked the plank. bookmarkers, journals to chocolate coins. Pirate Olewine received lots of help from her pirate mates from fifth and sixth grades, staff, volunteers and the PTO to make it a fun-filled event.
