Panther grads help PSU-Wilkes

Panther Valley graduates Marques Middleton and Bejtullah Mehmeti are both members of the Penn State University-Wilkes Barre campus men's basketball team that recently participated in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II Basketball tournament.

Middleton and Mehmeti are both freshmen on the squad, which was seeded ninth out of the 10-team tournament field.

PSU-Wilkes Barre ended the tourney with a 2-2 mark. The team lost to the University of Maine Augusta, 73-68, before edging Central Maine CC, 70-69. PSU-Wilkes then defeated Penn State Beaver, 57-55, before being eliminated by NHTI, 70-57.

Both Middleton and Mehmeti played in all four games of the tourney. Mehmeti had eight points against Penn State Beaver while Middleton collected six rebounds in the Central Maine CC contest.
