Thrilled to host festival

Dear Editor:

Kudos and thanks to Terry Ahner and the Times News for the article about the upcoming Carbon County Band Festival, our 50th annual event, on March 18.

We at Palmerton High School are thrilled to host this milestone event and to have a guest soloist of Denny Seiwell's stature. It truly will be a memorable event for all participating and attending. We also hope that many former county band participants will attend, especially since we expect a number of former directors to be there. It would be great to play host to reunions of many former students and teachers.

We also hope folks will take a look at http://carboncountyband.wikispaces.com and post reflections on their own Carbon County Band experiences, no matter how long ago.

Thanks again for including coverage of a very positive experience for a lot of great young people in our schools.
