Heffley announces candidacy for State Representative
Carbon County resident Doyle Heffley announced his candidacy today for Pennsylvania State General Assembly in the 122nd district.
"I am excited for the opportunity to become the next State Representative from the 122nd District. As a life-long resident of Carbon County, I will reflect the values of our area and will approach this campaign with determination and humility. I pledge to be a citizen-representative who will focus on the needs of our neighbors and will make our government more responsive to our citizens."
A graduate of Lehighton High School, Heffley received his Associate's Degree from Lincoln Technical Institute. Beginning his career in transportation as a railroad laborer then a commercial tractor trailer driver, Heffley has steadily worked his way up the management ladder and is currently employed with Pennsylvania-based J.P. Donmoyer Trucking as Terminal Manger for two Pennsylvania based facilities.
An active member of the community, Heffley participates in numerous local organizations including the Lower Towamensing Planning Commission, the Carbon County Republican Committee, the Sons of the American Legion Post 314, and the Indian Mt Rod & Gun Club.
"After spending time with thousands of residents here in Carbon County, I have heard and witnessed what higher taxes, out of control spending and government corruption has done to our Commonwealth. I feel the voice of the working class needs to be heard in Harrisburg. It's time for the state budget to be treated more like a family budget and less like a blank check."
Doyle is the son of Larry and Roberta Heffley of Lehighton. He and his wife Kellie have been married for 13 years and are the proud parents of two daughters Elizabeth and Angela. The Heffley family worships at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Trachsville.
