Family fun night held at Penn Kidder
The Penn Kidder Campus of the Jim Thorpe Area School District was the setting recently for a both fun and educational event called "Family Fun Night".
This was just one of many activities held during BAMMM Week which stands for Books Are Magical. Magnificent, and Marvelous.
The week-long event promotes and celebrates reading.
The major highlights of the evening's activities were a book swap featuring hundreds of books and a family-participation game called "The Brain Show".
The Brain Show is an interactive trivia game show that is fun for the whole family and offers the fun and excitement of a real live TV game show.
Three family teams at a time competed against one another to be the first to answer questions such as, "what is the fastest sea mammal?" (answer Orca, also known as the killer whale)
In addition to bragging rights, the family members won Brain Show medallions to wear around their neck.
The audience members appeared to be having as much fun as the game show contestants thanks to the lively music played in between questions.
To add to the fun in Family Fun Night, there was also a variety of food and refreshments available for everyone to purchase.
Among the event's coordinators were Penn Kidder PTA President Kathy Saxon; faculty members Nancy Fields and Kathy Andreas; Brian Gasker, Principal; and Randy Engle, Assistant Principal along with other staff and faculty members.
