What's a birthday party without a birthday cake?
Girl Scout troops from the Palmerton are didn't have anything to worry about since they had several to enjoy at their celebration of the 98th birthday of Girl Scouts on March 12 by holding a birthday party/sleepover at Holy Trinity Church's fellowship hall in Palmerton.
They spent the day making several birthday cakes and decorating them, later judging the best decorated cakes in two categories of a movie theme and Girl Scout theme.
After a pizza party the girls from troops 3341, 3112, 3259, 37, 3520 and 33401 danced to the live music of "Senile Delinquents.
After eating birthday cake, they had a giant sleepover. All of this was to celebrate the founding of Girl Scouts by Juliette Gordon Low on March 12, 1912.
Low wanted the organization to be where any American girl could expand her personal horizon by having fun while exploring new interests and contributing to society.
