Tamaqua man cited for incident

A Tamaqua man has been cited following an incident at the Hang Loose Bar, 200 E. Broad St., on Saturday.

Officers heard loud noises coming from the bar area at 11:52 p.m. and went to investigate. They observed a crowd of people pointing at a male figure who was walking west. Witnesses said the man smashed a window in the entry door.

The man was ordered to stop but continued walking. Officers detained him and identified him as Ali Lasanta Walton, 20, of 12 W. Broad St. Walton became very uncooperative, yelling and ranting at police. When he failed to cease his actions he was taken into custody despite his efforts to resist. He was handcuffed and taken to the station and lodged in the cell block.

He was later released and cited for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
