I'm a swinger

Published March 20. 2010 09:00AM

Dear Editor:

Are you a swinger? Well I have become one. I'm referring to the price of gas changing every other day.

What exactly is that all about? Are they trying to swing themselves silly while making us dizzy, or are they trying to keep copper pennies flowing, or is it a way to lose them?

I no longer put $10, $15, or $20 of gas in my car. I'll put in $11.68. Why not!

As long as oil companies want to play, my shiny red purse will too. I have no economic degree but I know from advertising $1.88 supposedly sounds cheaper than $2, but that product has a longer shelf life.

Maybe someday if everyone starts using pennies, just keep a little bucket of them on your back seat, we will actually wake up and see the price of gas, $2.50 a gallon. Better yet, maybe we will wake up and see it's raining pennies from heaven or with St. Patrick's Day here we will find a copper kettle outside our door filled with pennies.

This was probably the big plan to create the "Dollar Stores."

So don't be ashamed, be proud to be a swinger. Hold your head up high. You cannot deny it. The proof is in the pump. I swing for pennies. We all swing for expensive pennies.
