Tamaqua Police responded to a hit and run Friday night in Tamaqua. A number of witnesses stated a black Jeep Cherokee drove over an Advanced Auto curb, side-swiped a tan 2002 Chevy Blazer parked at the Fegley's lot, spun its tires in the gravel, and quickly speed away on Cedar Street (SR-309) through town without headlights. The Tamaqua Police quickly located the Jeep and pulled it over in front of the Tamaqua Transfer Station entrance. The owner of the Chevy Blazer, Samantha Richardson, stated she was glad her baby wasn't in the back seat at the time. No more information is available as of press time. Anyone with more information is encouraged to call the Tamaqua Police Department. Pictured is the rear of a tan Chevy Blazer that was involved in a hit and run in Tamaqua.
