Rush costs for sewer project

On Tuesday, Rush Township engineers Alfred Benesch & Company presented details of a proposed $950,000 project to upgrade the sewer system and improve drainage, sidewalks, road surface and lighting along Meadow Avenue. Here is the "conceptual cost estimate" the company released:

*Replace 6,500 feet of 8-inch terra cotta pipe with PVC: $350,000

*Replace about 25 manholes, frames and covers: $40,000

*Trench restoration: $90,000

*Inlets: $45,000

*Storm piping: $130,000

*Overlay paving: $140,000

*Curb line milling: $10,000

*Street lights, conduit, wire and trench: $115,000

*Miscellaneous concrete repair: $30,000
