Cyclist, passenger injured in crash
A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured in a crash that occurred about 4:50 p.m. on Friday, March 19, along the Burma Road in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said Joseph E. Kriner, 56, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 1994 Honda Pacific Coast cycle southbound and negotiating a left curve when the bike slid on gravel. The bike went onto the berm and went down on its side.
Kriner and his passenger, Mary M. Kriner, same address, were both injured and taken by Ryan Township ambulance to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville, for treatment of injuries.
Troopers also probed a crash about 1:10 p.m. on Friday along on ramp to Interstate 81 in Kline Township. Troopers said Cameron M. Huddleston, 36, of Cherryville, N.C., was driving a 2001 Freightliner tractor with trailer southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the ramp. He lost control of the rig and it rolled over onto the west berm.
Huddleston was not injured but damages were severe to the rig. Troopers cited Huddleton.
