Nikki Jo Hatmaker, Lehighton, and Douglas Jay Nothstein, also of Lehighton, have announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Deb Hatmaker and the late James Hatmaker of Coaldale.
She graduated from the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
She is employed by the Lehigh Valley Health Network as an RN in the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dwight and Orpha Nothstein of Lehighton.
He graduated from Lackawanna Junior College, Police Academy. He is employed by the Bethlehem Police Department as a crime scene investigator.
A wedding date has been set for Oct. 16, 2010.
