Scott Murphy and Wendy Marek
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Marek, Nesquehoning, announce the engagement of their daughter, Wendy, to Scott Murphy, son of James Murphy, Tamaqua, and the late Linda Evans Murphy.
The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 2008 graduate of Wilkes University, where she earned a doctor of pharmacy degree. She is employed as a pharmacist at Hazle Drugs, Hazleton.
The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 2005 graduate of Penn State University, University Park, where he earned a bachelor's degree in recreation and park management and business and marketing. He is employed as a member of the management team at Schuylkill Country Club, Orwigsburg.
The couple will exchange vows on Oct. 9, 2010.
