Jim Thorpe student wins Rotary Essay award

Bill Allison, left, president of the Jim Thorpe Rotary Club, Ted Silver, district governor of District 7410 of Rotary International, and Budd O'Malia, district governor nominee 2011-12 awarded a $1,000 prize to Thomas Smyth, junior at Jim Thorpe High School for his winning entry on Service Above Self. District 7410 of Rotary International covers 10 counties in northeastern Pennsylvania.
