Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes investigated by troopers recently on Monroe County roads.

A crash occurred about 7:02 a.m. on March 18 along SR715 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Kim Loomis, 45, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer southbound and negotiating a slight right curve when she lost control. The Ford went onto the west berm and struck the guide rail. After impact the Ford continued on and struck the guide rail a second time.

Loomis sustianed a minor injury and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The second crash occurred about 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, along Gould Devil Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Edward R. Mathews III, 21, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 1998 Dodge 1500 pickup truck northbound when a deer ran out in front of him. Mathews attempted to swerve to the left and his truck went onto the berm and struck an embankment. After impact the truck overturned onto the passenger side and came to rest across both lanes of travel.

Mathews was not injured.
