Schuylkill man jailed on charges

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on outstanding criminal warrants this week.

State police at Frackville said Michael J. Stewart Jr., 27, of Barnesville, was observed at 42 Williams St., Ryan Township, about 7:35 p.m on Wednesday, March 24, and was taken into custody.

Stewart had outstanding warrants for his arrest for charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. The charges stem from a incident that occurred on May 20, 2009, in Cumbola, Blythe Township.

Stewart was arraigned before District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $35,000 percentage bail.
