Speed blamed for Schuylkill crash
Speed was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, in Schuylkill County in which the driver fled the scene.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Adam G. Adams, 25, of Gordon, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on SR183 in North Manheim Township and entering a left curve near Morningside Drive. The car traveled straight onto the east berm and down a slight embankment.
After traveling down the embankment the car continued about 63 feet before digging into the mud and rolling over. The car rolled over one and a half times before coming to rest on its roof off the berm.
Troopers said Adams fled the scene on foot and ran north on 183 toward R&J Transportation but was later found. His passenger, Daniel J. Rehnn Jr., 29, of Marion Heights, Northumberland County, was injured and transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville.
Troopers said Adams will be cited, including for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
