Two cited for fight over children

Two Schuylkill County men were cited after they got involved in a fistfight over their children.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jon G. Golden, 43, of Cressona, went to the home of Michael J. Shefcyk, 33, of 24 Judy Drive, Cressona, on Friday, March 26, about 4:15 p.m. to discuss an ongoing problem between their children.

Troopers said once there Golden struck Shefcyk with a closed fist in the back of the head causing a slight red mark to appear. After being struck, Shefcyk then punched Golden in the face with a closed fist causing a laceration to the bridge of the nose and laceration to the upper lip.

Troopers said Shefcyk will be charged with simple assault and harassment and Golden will be charged with harassment.
