Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident about 1:34 a.m. on Thursday, April 29.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers stopped William Oxendine III, 25, of Tobyhanna, along Rob Roy at Devon Rd., in Pocono Farms East, Tobyhanna, Coolbaugh Township, for an equipment violation.

Oxendine was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood teset. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
