Break-ins, theft incidents probed
State police at Lehighton reported on burglaries and theft incidents being investigated by troopers.
A break-in occurred at the residence of Charles Becht, 52, of 104 Rolling Meadows Rd., in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County. An exterior window was broken on the pool house to gain entry. The intruders entered the pool house and removed a 58-inch Samsung Plasma television valued at $3,500. The incident occurred sometime between April 1 and Tuesday, April 27.
The home of Sharon E. George, 49, of Kunkletown Road, Eldred Township, Monroe County, was entered. Troopers said two points of attempted forced entry were found. The intruders made entry by kicking in the kitchen door.
Removed were multiple small electronics and a Toshiba brand laptop computer. Also taken were multiple pieces of jewelry and various other small household items. No value was placed on the missing items. The incident occurred sometime between 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 26.
An illegal entry was made to the residence of Gerald Anthony Risteter, 54, of 4389 E. Sherwood Drive, Robinhood Lakes, Polk Township, Monroe County. Entry was made through a back door. Removed was a chain saw and guitar. The incident occurred sometime between 12:30 and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28.
Troopers said Jurgita Trinidad, 47, of Kunkletown, Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported someone obtained her credit card information and attempted to withdraw money from her account. The incident occurred sometime between March 10 and Tuesday, April 27, when it was reported.
Troopers are investigating a theft and criminal mischief incident that occurred at the Pleasant View Lake development in Polk Township. Troopers said someone stole a "No ATV or Dirt Bike Riding" sign from the development. They then spray-painted various other signs using black and orange paint. The incident occurred sometime overnight of Sunday, April 25, into Monday.
Jennifer T. Emrey, 30, of Parryville, reported someone removed an HP Pavilion laptop computer from a locked file cabinet at the Youth Service Camp located along Mountain Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. The theft occurred sometime between April 18-21.
Stephen Andrew Urash, 66, of 1274 Cindy Lane, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported someone damaged the foundation area of a concrete cabin located in a wooded area on his property. The incident was reported on Wednesday, April 28.
