Schuylkill woman injured in crash

A Schuylkill County woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 9:43 a.m. on Sunday, May 2, along SR209 in Frailey Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Sarah E. Stevens, of Douglassville, Berks County, was driving a 2006 Ford Windstar southbound and had pulled off onto the east berm and then realized she was going the wrong way. She re-entered the road and attempted to make a U-turn and her vehicle was struck by a 2008 GMC Envoy driven by Larry G. Miller, 61, of Muir. After impact the GMC traveled southeast direction through both lanes of travel and coming to rest facing southeast along the east berm.

A passenger with Miller, Donna J. Miller, 56, same address, sustained major injuries, troopers said. She was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville. Larry Miller was not injured. Stevens had a minor injury while two juvenile passengers with her were not injured.

Troopers cited Stevens for careless driving.
