Two persons were injured in a near head-on collision that occurred about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, along SR209 at Church Road (SR2011) in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Dawn M. Gorman-Farrar, 41, of Albrightsville, was southbound in a 2009 Lincoln Navigator and attempted to turn left onto Church Road and failed to yield the right-of-way to a northbound vehicle operated by Elizabeth A. Getz, 50, of Palmerton. The impact of the two vehicles occurred in the northbound lane, troopers said.

Gorman-Farrar and Getz were both injured. Troopers indicated they were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment. Two passengers with Gorman-Farrar, Malorie N. Gorman, 12, and Jeffrey R. Gorman, 40, same address, were not injured.

Troopers cited Gorman-Farrar with vehicle turning left.
