May 6, 1968 Rich Rex breaks a school record and sets two new field marks in helping Palmerton gain a 59-36 home track win over Slatington. Rex uses a toss of 53-9 in the shot put to set a school and field record and also gains another field mark with a 142-11 1/2 in the discus. The Bombers' Steve Goidich also sets a new field mark by clearing 12-8 in the pole vault. Barry Snyder also aids the winning effort with firsts in the 880 and mile.
