Stefani named NDES girls hoop coach

Former Pleasant Valley girls basketball coach Dave Stefani will take over the Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg program.

Stefani, who resigned at PV after the 2005-06 season to become an assistant principal at the school, missed coaching, where he compiled 213 wins.

During 11 seasons at Pleasant Valley, his teams went 213-77, won five straight Mountain Valley Conference titles and led the school to the District 11 Class AAAA championship in 2003.

Stefani went back into teaching for the 2009-10 school year as a physical education teacher at Polk Elementary School in the PV district.

He replaces Michael Lewis, who had a 13-30 record in two years with the Spartans.
