Attempted theft incident probed

State police at Lehighton continue to investigate a report of a theft of a motor vehicle in Monroe County.

The incident occurred when unknown persons arrived at the property of Walter Lengel, 72, of 22 Blue Mountain Village, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, sometime between 12:30-5:30 a.m. May 2.

They proceeded to remove Lengel's red 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle and attempted to hot wire the motorcycle but were unsuccessful.

They then pushed the motorcycle a short distance down the road where they abandoned it.
