Minor injuries in Schuylkill crash

Minor injuries were reported in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 3, at the intersection of SR443 and SR183, in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Laurie J. Humphrey, 55, of Pine Grove, was northbound on 183 and in the left turn lane attempting to turn onto 443. Troopers said Humphrey began to turn and pulled directly into the path of a 1990 Chevrolet 1500 truck operated by Stephen L. Gebhart, 28, of Reading, who was northbound on 183. The front of the truck struck the right front of Humphrey's 1993 Buick LeSabre.

After impact the Buick spun about 180 degrees and traveled about 40 feet south, coming to rest facing south in a grassy area along the southbound lane. The truck came to rest facing southwest partially blocking the eastbound lane of 443.

Humphrey and her passenger, Corey L. Lewis, 34, of Pine Grove, and Gebhart, all sustained minor injuries. Troopers said Humphrey was cited for vehicle turning left.
