Monroe crashes
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported investigating two crashes in recent days in which one driver is facing a driving under the influence (DUI) count, and the other accident involved a motorcycle.
The DUI suspected crash occurred about 3:25 p.m. on May 6 along SR115 and Colleen Drive, in Blakeslee. Pocono police said Amel Jordan Jr., 56, of Tannersville, was entering 115 from Colleen Drive and pulled in front of a vehicle operated by Craig Foulke, 32, of Blakeslee, and a collision occurred.
Jordan was injured and was flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Foulke was not injured. Police said Jordan was believed to be under the influence and a blood test was requested.
The DUI charge is pending the test results, police added.
On Friday, May 7, about 3:34 p.m. officers responded to a reported crash along SR196 at the Gotta Go Plaza, in Mt. Pocono. The investigation revealed that Charles Johnson, 43, of Tobyhanna, was operating a motorcycle northbound when he lost control when vehicles stopped in front of him to turn into the plaza. Johnson layed the bike on the road and was thrown from it. Johnson was not wearing a helmet and sustained a head injury.
He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he was treated and released, police said.
