Monroe man jailed on warrant
A Monroe County man was jailed on April 29 on an outstanding warrant.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said they were alerted about an altercation that occurred at the Joe's Kwik Mart along SR940 about 11:58 p.m. between a male and female in a white vehicle. The vehicle was spotted and stopped as officers wanted to make sure everything was alright.
At the stop a rear seat passenger provided a name but no identification. In attempting to verifty this information conflicting information was returned. The male then provided more false information. He was taken into custody and transported to the state police barracks at Swiftwater for a fingerprint anaylsis. In route the male gave his real name as Daron Hesterbey, 21, of Blakeslee. A check revealed a warrant was issued for his arrest to the county sheriff's department.
Hesterbey was taken to the county prison in Snydersville pending further court action. Police said charges are pending against the others in the vehicle, who were identified as Nicole Cortez, 21, of Swiftwater, the driver, and Gerald Tyler, 21, of Tobyhanna.
