Pocono Mountain Regional police reported a retail theft arrest.

Police said on Monday, May 10, about 2 p.m. officers were called to the Dollar General Store in Blakeslee for a theft incident. Police allege that Amanda Smith, 20, of Albrightsville, attempted to conceal $10 worth of merchandise inside her purse and then tried to leave the store wihtout paying for it.

Police said a check revealed Smith had a prior arrest for retail theft in 2009 and there was an arrest warrant for her. She was taken before District Judge Michael R. Muth, of Stroudsburg, for arraignment and was committed to the county prison in Snydersville on the outstanding warrant.
