Schuylkill man facing charges

A Schuylkill County man is facing several charges following an incident that occurred about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, at 263 Valley Road, in Upper Mahantongo Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Timothy Rothermel, 43, of Klingerstown, went to the above address and began banging on the front door. The female who resides at the residence told Rothermel she would not let him in and repeatedly told him to leave. Rothermel became very angry and began punching and kicking the front door. Troopers said he then broke the door jam forcing the door open. Rothermel entered the home and grabbed the woman, who was not identified by troopers, by the throat and pushed her agianst a wall. He then struck her several times in the head and face area causing a small cut to her lower lip.

Rothermel then left the scene. Troopers located him about 2:30 a.m. at his residence and took him into custody. He is being charged with burglary and other charges, troopers said.
