Traffic stops lead to drug charges

Two traffic stops made by state police at Lehighton on Friday, May 7, resulted in drug charges pending against three persons.

At 9:25 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation along Main Road, in Franklin Township, Carbon County. The 17-year-old Lehighton male driver was found to have in his possession marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for those violations.

At 9:44 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle in Mahoning Township. Troopers said marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found. Both occupants, a 17-year-old male and Jeremiah Becker, 19, both of Tamaqua, were cited for possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
