Divorces granted

Colleen Milot, 221 Valley Street, Brockton, was granted a divorce from Stephen Willing, 125 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning. They were married Aug. 2, 2004.

Karen Pauly Lohin, Orwigsburg, was granted a divorce from Robert Lohin, Minersville. They were married June 15, 2002.

Sharon M. Fanelli, Minersville, was granted a divorce from William J. Fanelli, Pottsville. They were married Nov. 4, 1995.

Joseanne Mummey, 220 Ohio Ave., Shenandoah Heights, was granted a divorce from Robert R. Mummey, 35 Schuylkill Ave., Shenandoah. They were married Aug. 27, 1994.

Accident suit

A New Ringgold woman was awarded damages by an arbitration board for injuries suffered in an accident. Amy R. Schellhammer, 381 Archery Club Rd., New Ringgold, was awarded $1,000 and the ruling was against Robert Jonathan. Schellhammer was operating a vehicle on March 16, 2007, on North Fifth Street in the borough of Minersville and Jonathan was operating a truck in the opposite direction. The testimony was he tried to pass vehicles in front of him and entered her lane causing a collision.

Revoke probation

Kristy Reich, 27, Shenandoah, had her probation revoked by Judge John E. Domalakes and she was re-sentenced to serve two to 23 months in the county prison. She has 45 days credit for time served. Reich pleaded guilty forging drug prescriptions last August and was placed on probation.

Credit card suits

Arbitration boards appointed by court, consisting a three attorneys to a board, heard suits concerning credit cards and rendered decisions.

Amanda H. Leshko, 28 Shade Street, Middleport, brought the suit against Amy Jo Butterfield, 308 Birchwood Drive, Lehighton.

Leshko claimed on or about August 8, 2007, Butterfield applied for an credit card in Leshko's name and also herself as additional member on the same card. Leshko claimed she was unaware the application was made in such a manner. It was claimed by Leshko that as of Sept. 23, 2007, the balance due on the credit card was $7,700.

She claimed Butterfield was unjustly enriched and sought $10,000 in damages because she didn't apply for the credit card and did not give Butterifled authority to apply. Butterfield's response to the suit was that there was an agreement between them to apply for the credit card and claims the balance listed was purchases made for the office and are in possession of Leshko. The arbitration board ruled in favor of Butterfield.

Chase Bank, San Antonio, Tex., brought suit against Jamie Reed, 1333 W. Norwegian St., Pottsville, claiming he defaulted on payments on his credit card and sought damages of $1,107.14 plus interest and costs. The board awarded the amount sought but did not award any interest or costs.

HSBC Bank Nevada, Las Vegas, Nev., filed suit against Joseph W. Haldeman, 339 Laurel Street, Minersville, claiming he defauted on his credit card payments and sought a judgement for $2,067.17 plus interest and costs. The board awarded the amount owed but no interest or costs.

Bail hearings

Judge D. Michael Stine held bail hearings and handed down rulings.

Jason W. Miller, 31, of 34 N. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, had his bail modified to $1,000 unsecured bail, which means he does not have to post any money but if he defaults he will owe the amount of the bail. Other special conditions set in addtition to the general conditions of the bail bond was he shall reside at the Greenwood Street address and shall not relocate without prior court approval. Miller faces drug charges.

Matthew Oshman, 20, 136 S. Walnut St., Mount Carmel, had his bail reduced to $1,000 percentage cash and he must reside at the Walnut Street address and can't relocate without court approval. He faces charges of burglary and theft.

Edward Brotzman, 40, of 409 Centre St., Apt. B, Freeland, was brought to court on a bench warrant which the judge vacated and set bail forfeiture aside. Bail was reinstated and he was ordered to stay at the Freeland address and can't relocate without court order. He faces theft charges.

Jessica L. Danouski, 23, of 123 Sunbury St., Apt. 2, Minersville, had his bail modified to $2,000 unsecured bail and he must stay at the Minersville address and can't relocate without court permission. She faces drug charges.

Jose F. Cabrera Jr., 18, of 23 W.Patterson St., Saint Clair, had his bail modified to $500 percentage cash bail and he must reside at the Saint Clair address and not relocate without court permission. He faces criminal mischief charges.
