NW, PV grab high seeds
The two TIMES NEWS area teams involved in the District 11 soccer playoffs received high seeds on Monday night.
Colonial League champ Northwestern grabbed the top seed in Class AA. In Class AAA, Mountain Valley Conference champion Pleasant Valley was seeded second behind Lehigh Valley Conference titlist Emmaus.
The District 11 tournament will get underway on Wednesday with a pair of qualifying round games in Class AA and three in Class AAA.
There are 10 teams in the Class AA field. Northwestern has a bye into the quarterfinal round on Friday when it hosts the winner of the Pen Argyl-Palisades game at 4 p.m. Three teams in Class AA advance into the PIAA State Tournament
The Class AAA field has 11 teams. Pleasant Valley is also off until Friday's quarterfinal round. The Bears will entertain the winner of the Bangor-Liberty game at 4 p.m. The two teams in Class AAA move on to the PIAA State Tournament.
