Divorces granted
Nadine M. Bennett, 67 Reynolds Road, Tamaqua, was granted a divorce from Kevin D. Bennett, 8 S. Lehigh St., Tamaqua. They were married March 21, 2007.
William R. Fryer, Main Street, Kaska, Blythe Township, was granted a divorce from Desta A. Fryer, Saint Clair. They were married July 13, 1991.
Ronald E. Koscil was granted a divorce from Denise M. Koscil, both of Pottsville. They were married Sept. 14, 1985.
Revoke probation
Because he violated the terms fixed by court, Robert Franklin Willie, 42, Minersville, had his probation revoked by Judge John E. Domalakes and he was re-sentenced to serve three to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 35 days. Domalakes ordered he submit to drug and alcohol tests and the court would consider paroling him again if he was accepted in an inpatient rehabilitation facility. Willie had pleaded guilty to a trespass charge.
Nikole Marie Price, 32, Pottsville, had her probation revoked by Domalakes and she was re-sentenced to serve 19 days to 12 months in prison, however, since she received credit for serving 19 days was immediately re-paroled. She had been sentenced on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Extra prison time
Thomas Michael Lucas, 46, an inmate in the state correctional institution in Mahanoy Township, was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin on a charge of possessin of contraband in his prison cell which consisted of 0.09 grams of heroin, to serve 40 to 80 months in a state bureau of correction with the sentence to begin when his present sentence expires. He had been found guilty of the charge by a jury last January and sentence was deferred until now.
Register of Wills
Michael M. McCord, Register of Wills/Clerk of the Orphans' Court, reported on the following activities in his office for the month of April.
There were 75 estates processed; 59 marriage licenses issued; and one adoption completed.
Inheritance tax remitted to the state totaled $942,034.05 and county fees collected were $22,918.50.
