Burglaries, theft incidents probed
State police at Lehighton reported on troopers investigating burglaries and theft incidents in recent days.
A burglary occurred at a fire damaged residence located at 10005 Interchange Road, in Towamensing Township, Palmerton. Troopers said unknown persons forced open a door on the structure, which had been boarded up due to a fire that occurred there, and entry was gained.
Nothing was taken from the home, but the owner, Richard K. Ratti, 52, of Rockville, Tenn., reported a shed on the property was entered and removed was multiple tools and lawn and garden equipment.
Troopers said evidence showed the criminals parked a vehicle on Trachsville Hill Road and used a path through a wooded area to remove the stolen items.
The incident occurred sometime between 2:30 and 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 17.
An unidentified woman residing at 105 Unionville Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported a garage on her property was entered and a snowblower was removed. She also said her residence was entered and cash taken The incident occurred sometime between Sunday, May 16, and Wednesday, May 19.
Troopers are investigating an incident at the 209 Car Wash, located along SR209 at Mill Pond Rd., Polk Township, Monroe County. Unknown persons broke into a Pepsi soda machine by prying it open and removed money from it and a bill collector and coin box.
The incident occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Troopers said 300 yards of railroad signal cable was removed from tracks south of the Palmerton exit on SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township sometime around midnight on Friday, May 15.
The cable, valued at $500, is the property of the Norfolk Southern Railroad, of Bethlehem.
Jerry Daignault, of 3337 Shady Oaks Drive West, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County, reported someone stole his prescription pills and CD's from his unlocked vehicle while parked at his residence.
The incident occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, and 11 a.m. on Monday.
Steven Enderley, of 111 Overlook Drive, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported someone entered onto his property and removed solar lights.
The incident occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. on May 9 and 12:30 p.m. on May 16.
