Carbon woman jailed on warrant
A Carbon County woman was jailed over the weekend on an outstanding warrant.
State police at Lehighton said Patricia Lynn Dempsey, 49, of Weissport, was stopped about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, along Pine Run Road at Maxine Drive, in Towamensing Twonship for motor vehicle code violations. At the stop it was learned that Dempsey had an active warrant for her arrest issued to the county sheriff's department.
While taking her into custody troopers found multiple pills in her possession which were not prescribed for her.
She was charged by troopers with possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended license, driving with a cracked windshield and having bald tires on the vehicle.
She was turned over to sheriff department deputies who transported her to the county prison in Nesquehoning for the outstanding warrant.
