May 22, 1952 Tamaqua turns a triple play on the game's final play to kill a Lehighton rally and preserve a 9-8 Tri-County League win. With runners on first and third and no outs, Jim Sloboda catches a fly ball in center and then throws home to nail the player trying to score. After the out at home, catcher John Dalcin throws to second to wipe out the runner trying to move up from first. Sloboda collects two hits and scores two runs for Tamaqua, while Charles Stefanek adds a pair of hits and a run scored.
