Nesquehoning arrests reported

Several arrests made recent by Nesquehoning police were reported.

On May 12 Officer Carl Breiner filed two counts of driving under the influence (DUI) against Anthony James Arnoldi, of 119 Dina Ave., Hazleton. Arnoldi was stopped on May 2 about 2:03 a.m. along SR54 by the Ametek property after being observed driving erratically. He submitted to a blood test that revealed a .27BAC.

Officer Timothy Wuttke filed retail theft charge agianst Frances Steckel, 23 W. Abbott St., Lansford, for an incident that occurred about 11:58 a.m. on May 9 at Redner's Warehouse Market. Steckel was charged with removing $12.84 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

On May 9 about 3:51 p.m. Officer Wuttke was dispatched to 90 E. Catawissa St. to a report of an assault incident. As a result of an investigation Maggie Magrini, of 107A Rowe St., Tamaqua, was charged with one count each of harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly pushing and hitting her mother, Rhoda Banta, of that address.

Banta was charged with one count each of harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly pushing and hitting her daughter, Magrini.

May 12 Officer Brian White charged Allen Keys Sr., of 143 E. Railroad St., with two counts of simple assault and one of harassment. White was dispatched to the Keys' home to see a victim of an assault. On scene White was told by a juvenile that he had been assaulted by his father, Keys.

The juvenile had multiple injuries including a swollen left eye, multiple scrathes, lacerations to the hand and black and blue marks on his back, police said.
