Schuylkill driver facing DUI charge

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 4:25 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, along High Road, in Cass Township.

State police at Frackville said troopers responded to a reported crash at the above location and time. Upon arrival it was determined there was no crash.

Troopers said Donald Koch Jr., 30, of St. Clair, had fallen asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and parked on the road. He was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for a blood test.

Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the test results.
