Teens cited for underage drinking

Tamaqua police have cited several teenage individuals for their involvement in an underage drinking party on May 22.

At 10:50 p.m. police reponded to a call that there was an underage party at a home on Hunter Street. Officers went to the residence and found several underage persons who appeared to be intoxicated. Two empty bottles of Bankers Club Vodka were found in the yard, next to a camping tent.

Four individuals were found to have been consuming an alcoholic beverage, while two juveniles were not drinking.

Cited for disorderly conduct were Nicholas Genery, 19, E. Broad St.; Deanna M. Fortin, 18, of Orwigsburg St.; a 17 year-old male juvenile; two 17 year-old female juveniles; a 16 year-old male and a 15 year-old female, all from the borough. All cooperated with the investigation except one of the 17 year females, who resides at the residence.

Parents were notified and the juveniles were released into their parents' custody.
