Two drivers were arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) in Jim Thorpe in separate incidents.

Borough police said Gregory Alan Lazorick, 38, of Jim Thorpe, was involved in a two vehicle crash in the 100 block of Center St. on Oct. 12 about 12:36 a.m. Lazorick showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said, and failed field sobriety tests.

He was then placed under arrest for DUI and taken to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. Police said the test results were positive for methamphetamine.

On Oct. 17 about 6:14 p.m. police stopped Thomas Michael Matthews, 40, of 902 Main St., Slatington, along Lehigh Avenue for several motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was transported to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test, which revealed a .19BAC.
