Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and theft incidents recently.

The burglary occurred at the residence of Thomas M. Duffy, 50, of Evergreen Lake Road, in Kresgeville, Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said an unknown type object was used to force open the front door. Once inside the criminals removed the following items with listed values: Toro self-propelled lawnmower ($600), Sears Crasftsman weed trimmer ($100), Ryobi cordless circular saw, 18 volt ($90), and two extension cords ($25). The break-in occurred sometime between Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 7.

Christopher Phillip Mertz, 32, of 204 Bridge St., Weissport, reported someone removed two, 200-foot sections of wire from his trailer. The theft occurred sometime between Nov. 4-5.

Two black drainage pipes were removed from property at 3275 Forest St., Towamensing Township, sometime between Oct. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 6. The pipes have been recovered. The property is owned by Mark Stephen Zettlemoyer, 47, of Reading.
