Bloodmobile

An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held in Tamaqua on Nov. 17. The collection center will be at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St. Hours will be from 1-6 p.m.

Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good general health is eligible to become a blood donor. Tips for a successful donation include: drink extra water and non-alcoholic beverages; avoid caffeine; get a good night's sleep before donating blood; wear cool, loose clothing; eat a healthy meal before arriving at the donation center; and drink plenty of fluids after donating blood.

Sponsor for this visit will be Bittner's General Store.

St. John's Lutheran

The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. worship service this All Saints Sunday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service will be followed by a coffee fellowship in the church parlor. Sunday school and Confirmation classes meet at 10:30 a.m.

Activities for next week include: Monday, Worship and Music Committee meets at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, Messenger assembly at 1 p.m., Property Committee meeting at 7 p.m., Chime Choir meets at 5:30 p.m., Angel Choir rehearses at 6 p.m., Shepherds at 6:30 p.m. and Praise Choir at 7:30 p.m.

SS. Peter and Paul

The committee planning the 100th anniversary celebration of SS. Peter and Paul Lithuanian Catholic Church will meet at 7 p.m. Monday.

Choir rehearsals are held on Wednesdays, Youth Choir at 6 p.m. and Adult Choir at 7 p.m.

The choir and ladies auxiliary will hold a combined Christmas party at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the Viennese Villa, Coaldale. Reservations may be made by calling the rectory at (570) 668-1150. There will not be a gift exchange this year.

The children's Christmas party and liturgy will be held Dec. 4 in conjunction with the 5 p.m. Mass. A sign up sheet is located in the church vestibule.

First Methodist

The Rev. James Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service at First United Methodist Church. Holy Communion will be celebrated in First and Salem United Methodist Churches this Sunday.

Also this Sunday, a charge conference will be held at First Church, at 6 p.m.

First Church will sponsor a Christmas Festival of Music, featuring Audrey Christ, the church choir and the Heidelberg Bell Choir. The event will be held Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. For information call (570) 778-3546.

Zion Lewistown

The Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. A children's service will be included. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.
