Theft of copper wiring probed

The theft of copper wiring is being probed.

State police at Lehighton said about 100 feet of copper wiring, along with several electrical extension cords were removed from a contracting site at 2115 Little Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said the victims are two contracting companies, but did not identify them by name.

Troopers are also investigating a criminal mischief incident. Nicole R. Shoemaker, 22, of Kunkletown, reported someone smashed the windows on her disabled 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt while parked along Jonas Road in Polk Township, Monroe County. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, and 8:27 a.m. on Wednesday.
