Driver facing DUI after Monroe crash

One of two drivers involved in a crash in Monroe County is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). State police at Lehighton said the accident occurred about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, along Long Mountain Road, in Polk Township.

Troopers said John Robert Grimaldi, 34, of Effort, driving a 2009 Nissan Altima, was involved in a crash with Caitlin Ramos, 20, of Effort, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt.

Troopers said Grimaldi was found to be under the influence and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending, troopers said.
