Lehighton couple wed 60 years
Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Marzen
Edward T. and Helen C. Marzen of Lehighton are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today. They were married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 1950 at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe by the Rev. John Engler.
Attendants for the couple were George Marzen, David Roos, Connie Burkowski Santoni and Caroline Roos Reichert.
Mrs. Marzen is the daughter of the late Hugo and Caroline Roos of Jim Thorpe. Her husband is the son of the late John and Amelia Marzen, also of Jim Thorpe.
The Marzens have six children: Edward Marzen and his wife, Cathy, of Andreas; Michael Marzen and his wife, Mary, of Jim Thorpe; Barbara Swierczek, and her husband, Stan, of Summit Hill; John Marzen and his wife, Bernadette, of Lehighton; Carl Marzen and his wife, Mary, of Lehighton; and Diane Figueroa, and her fiance, Brian Falcaro, of Allentown.
Edward was the co-owner of Marzen Feed and Hardware in Lehighton for many years.
Helen worked as a registered nurse for many years until her retirement.
The couple will celebrate with a family party in their honor.
