Theft of vehicle incident probed

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the theft of a vehicle that was later located in a wooded area.

The 2001 Dodge Durango of Lonnie E. Perry, of 571 Greenview Drive, Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, reported the vehicle taken on Nov. 13 about 9 p.m. The criminals took it to a church lot at Greenview Drive and McIhaney Road where they rummaged through the vehicle, leaving some items lying on the ground in the church lot. They then drove to a farm along Roth Road in Eldred Township where they left the vehicle in a wooded area. The vehicle was found about 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 14.
