State police at Schuylkill Haven announced arrests have been made in an armed robbery incident that occurred earlier this month in Schuylkill County.
Troopers said Leslie Anna Pereira, 31, and Danielle Leonna Waked, 27, both of 2 Deerfield Drive, in Mt. Pocono, have been arrested on charges of robbery, theft and related counts. The two were arraigned on Tuesday, Nov. 23, before duty District Judge Anthony Kilker, of Shenandoah. The two were committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post the $25,000 straight cash bail set for each.
The two are accused of robbing Moises R. Arch, 44, of Orwigsburg, on Nov. 12 about 10 p.m. Arce was attemping to enter room number 40 at the Country Squire Motel, located along SR61, in North Manheim Township, when he was approached by two women from behind. One woman pushed him into the room and stuck the tip of a handgun into the back of his head. Once inside the room the two demanded money while keeping the gun stuck against his head.
Troopers said Pereira was the one with the gun and the person who removed Arce's wallet from his right rear pocket. The two then fled in a Toyota Camry with Waked driving, troopers said.
