Theft by deception case investigated

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks were summoned Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. to investigate a theft by deception case.

Police said the incident happened at the Turkey Hill store in Norweigan Township.

Police said a male between 60-70 years of age entered the store carrying an empty white bag and proceeded to walk around the store, picking up a pair of heavy duty gloves. He took the gloves to the counter and asked where he could find a lighter pair of gloves, later returning to the counter and exchanging the heavy duty ones that were never purchased for the lighter ones. He received the difference of $18.31 before leaving the store.
